Scurry and Flop
October 14, 2018
Living in the tiny UK
Where people are vampires and don’t bask in sunny rays
A lurking presence seemingly close
With pouted lips going mua! Mua! Mua!
Not on land now, however, or ever
Wanting to escape from ravenous eyes
Still they pursue and take a jab
Swerving and flopping away and away
They prepare their boxes and spaghetti wires
Sitting and sitting and waiting for hours!
Oh agony! A tan they’ve gotten
Sneering and snorkeling at their pursuit
One of them hears and shoots up quick
”I foun’ it! I foun’ it!”
They scurry and toot and throw out their wires
The wire connects! Oh joy! Happy hour!
Reel it in! Reel it in!
Flippity-flopping but then just tiring
They cut it up to bits and put it in the fryer
And ate the fish with a hearty grin
