In Sports Production, every student no matter their skills or experience has the opportunity to create projects tailored to their specific sports interests. Diego Delgado is the perfect example of how inclusive the Sports Production course is. Even though Diego is rather shy and keeps to himself, he is still able to participate and stay active in the class. He explained, “I plan, shoot, and edit stories revolving around sports, and also create projects that help the Arlington community stay up to date with the school’s news.” Just some of Diego’s projects include his documentary about student-athlete, Drew Benjamin and his various Athlete of Arlington posts. Diego also stays after school to help livestream Arlington’s sporting events. “My role during livestreams is CG or character generator. I display graphics on the screen that viewers of the livestream can see”
Outside of Arlington, Diego likes to stay active by playing soccer with his friends and family, but most of all he loves to sleep. Diego explained, “I get to experience an entire class structured around my interest in sports. This is especially cool for me because I get to incorporate my love for soccer into my work in class.” He also partakes in another film class at Arlington: Television Production. Considering his obvious love for film, it is to no surprise that he also films and edits work of his own outside of school. It is clear to everyone who knows Diego and even to those who don’t that he loves and appreciates sports and film.
