Brooklyn Criswell
TigerLife Sports Media Journalist
Brooklyn Criswell is a Sports Journalist, and she is a Senior at Arlington High School.
Brooklyn is an athlete outside of school, she is on the Arlington Varsity cheer team. “I usually practice every single day for the cheer team, and I also go to work where I help young kids become future cheerleaders by coaching AYS and tumbling classes.” “Outside of cheer, I hangout with my friends and family.”
She describes herself as a very outgoing and energetic person. She cares for others strongly and she has a very big heart. She always tries to make others happy and always makes sure she is before, too.
I asked Brooklyn what she likes about Sports Journalism and she said:
“I like being able to interact with athletes and know their stories about why they got into their sport and if they want to keep pursuing it. Since I’m an athlete I know how much time and effort you have to put into your sport and it is so cool hearing everyones different stories of how they manage their time.”
She decided to take Sports Journalism because she has been in the film industry for AHS since 9th grade and wanted to keep taking the classes through her senior year.
“I am also deciding if I am going to pursue communications and broadcasting in college and Sports Journalism is a good class to take to help me start learning more for college. I am a big sports fan and love all kinds of sports and thought I would really fit well in this class.”
Brooklyn plans to attend Mississippi State and cheer for their all girl team.
“I want to major in either business or communications/ broadcasting and digital jounralism. I wanted to attend an out of state college that is a right amount of distance from home to see what life is like outside of Arlington. I am very excited for my future and I am hoping it works out well!”
