TigerLife Sports Media Journalist
When soon to be Arlington Senior Carly Bertling heard that Media Arts Teacher Jessica Roberts was offering a new Sports Production class, she immediately jumped at the chance to be involved.
Carly has been a part of the Media Arts program for 3 years, but was hesitant the new class wouldn’t fit in her workload. “I wasn’t sure how i felt about this class at first, but now i look forward to it.”
Carly played volleyball for nine years, and the love of sports has continued into the class. Her love for volleyball has helped during sideline reporting. She didn’t continue playing but she has stayed involved by watching football and going to the Memphis games with her family.
Carlys favorite part about sports media, and what she is best at is being able to socialize with the other students. “I’m very fortunate to be able to take this class and have different opportunities a lot of other people don’t have.”
Carly would like to take up being a marketing coordinator, “This class helps me achieve the idea of what i will be doing in the future, If all else fails, I would love to be a sideline reporter for ESPN.”
Carlys biggest strength would be communicating with others, “I feel as if my biggest strength would be talking to people, during an interview i make sure to be myself in order to get better responses.”
Carly is one of our most experienced when it comes to social media platforms, “Over the years I’ve become more experienced, it feels good to be the person everyone comes to when they need help.”
