On Tuesday, January 28th, Arlington High School hosted AHS Bound Night. This was a night where many clubs, organizations, and sports teams came together to show upcoming 9th graders what the school is all about.

During this night, different organizations were able to speak to the current 8th graders and transfer students about what they are hoping to experience once they get to high school. They were able to visit different tables that were occupied by AHS’s most popular clubs.

Senior at AHS, Ryan Wallgren, is a co-leader of the club Girls for Christ. This is a club where girls meet together every Wednesday to hear a Bible lesson. Girls for Christ is sponsored by Rebekah Sanders, who gets help from Wallgren and Erin Martin. At AHS Bound Night, Wallgren said, “Girls for Christ had a terrific opportunity to reach out to future members. It was a wonderful night that was filled fellowship and fun.”

As the night went on, parents would walk around with their children to get a feel for what they were interested in. Some clubs would pass out flyers to show interest and support, while other clubs had hands on equipment the students could use.

Other than the clubs, some elective teachers were able to hold sessions in their classrooms. During these sessions they spoke to parents about what their classes are about and what their children would be apart of. Classes like Into to Media, Band, and Choir had sessions like these. They were very informational to parents to help them get an insight on what kinds of classes their children will be apart of.

Overall, this night was a big success for everyone there. It gave current students a look at the Class of 2029, and gave future students something to look forward to once they get to Arlington High School.
