Robyne Batson
Recently, Arlington Community Schools decided to add a STEM Program at their Elementary Schools. And new Donelson Elementary STEM Teacher Dr. Robyne Batson couldn’t be more thrilled. “I’ve taught all ages and I am very excited at where I am at now.”
Dr. Batson began her teaching career in 1983. While she has been in numerous school systems and schools, Dr. Batson stated “The Arlington School System is the best I have been in. They are very supportive and on the cutting edge.”
She went to Memphis State University and graduated in 1983 with an elementary degree. After, she attended Trevecca University to get her masters and doctorate degree. She’s always wanted to teach and realizes, “I can do anything I want with teaching.” When asked about what her goals are within her career, she says she hopes to be a principal one day or a college professor that teaches other teachers how to get ready for a teaching career.
Dr. Batson’s personal motto is that she should “teach like Jesus would.” Her example is that she treats her students how she would want someone to treat her kids. Telling her students, “you are creative, unique and individual.” Dr. Batson truly enjoys teaching at the level she is at, and she’s very impressed with the way her students come up with great ideas.
We hope to see great things from Dr. Batson and the Donelson Elementary School STEM program.
