Elizabeth Ozment
Elizabeth Ozment didn’t start out wanting to become a teacher, but with a change of heart and a change of location, she’s now one of the newest faces at Donelson Elementary. She has found her passion in teaching second graders.
She attended University of Tennessee and did a year of Graduate School, with a focus of pre-med, and ultimately decided to pursue education instead. She wanted to become a teacher because she spent most of her time working with kids, and she enjoys it.
She has really enjoyed Donelson so far, and she enjoys her second grade team teachers. The things she mention she enjoys about the kids are when they get excited about learning new material. “I’m a book worm and when the kids find books they like it makes me happy,” she says.
Outside of school she enjoys reading, going on walks, and hanging with friends.
Some words of wisdom for people wanting to be a teacher that she mentioned was “ just always Remember why you wanted to do it even when it gets hard.” She is looking forward to a good first year of being a new teacher.
