If you have checked the news recently you have definitely heard about the polar vortex that is hitting the American Midwest with the record breaking cold front. A temperature of -28 degrees fahrenheit was reported in Illinois this past Thursday. 21 deaths have also been reported that are related to this rugged weather. “That’s unbelievable,” replied student Carter Berg when told about the death toll in the Midwest. It was advised to all citizens in that area to remain indoors in the warm. Local charities in the Chicago area were opening buildings as homeless shelters to allow homeless people to stay indoors in the warm. Luckily, forecasters are saying that cold front will be gone soon. Peyton Jones was happy to hear that the less fortunate were being helped, “I am glad to see that people are helping out up there.”
