Neil Stewart

Mr. Neil Stewart is the new welding teacher at Arlington High School; ironically, though, he says he didn’t see himself here 10 years ago. “I never really wanted to become a teacher, but the older I got I just wanted to show others the satisfaction of building something from nothing.”

With experience in college teaching, he says he wasn’t aware of how excited he would be to teach high school for the first time. “I actually thought it would be the total opposite when I came from the college setting to this. I just thought the kids were gonna be more of a handful than they actually are.”

He admits that there are some challenges when it comes to being a teacher, though. He says his biggest challenge is “wanting to save everybody.”

It is clear that Mr. Stewart has been a great addition to Arlington High School this year, and we are excited to see what more he has to offer!
