Tabetha Stephens Banks has been named the principal of Arlington Middle School. Having been an assistant principal at AMS for the past 18 years, Mrs. Banks is more than ready to take on the extra responsibilities that come with the position. She said, “It is challenging but I am enjoying the challenges each day presents.” So far she is enjoying the new position and is eager to interact with students again. Obviously this school year is going to be very different because of COVID-19, but AMS is more than ready to overcome these challenges. The school has signage indicating which side of the hall to walk on, QR code’s to sign in and out, hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the whole school, and of course students must wear masks and stay 6ft away from each other. Teachers are also being told to follow the same procedures the students are. She said, “The teachers have done a great job modifying how things are done in their class.” One more thing AMS is doing is providing a great learning experience for the students that decided to go all online. Mrs. Banks is showing how great of a principal she is going to be and we are excited to watch.
