COVID-19 has affected people all over the world and have had to adapt to what is going on. I wanted to take a closer look on how it has affected business owners. I have interviewed Wayne Eason, owner of Bluff City Builders. Wayne Eason has described the work as being slow. He said it has slowed down the delivery and production of materials and has raised the cost of materials. The “customers become impatient with the extended amount of time to deliver a finished home because of the delayed material delivery times. Some customers have been scared of the economy and have backed out of buying a new home because of the uncertainties.” Wayne has had to change how he deals with certain things. He has to become “more pro-active about ordering materials months ahead of a project for multiple homes not even under construction. The materials cost have caused the prices of homes to increase proportionally.” I have asked Wayne if anybody from work has been affected and he said that he knew of friends and vendors with COVID-19 but no one that he has directly worked with has gotten COVID-19.
