Jackie Gillespie

Jackie Gillespie likes to see the lightbulb go off in a kids head. “I love when they finally start to understand the concept I am trying to teach them.” Mrs. Gillespie found a passion for teaching and is very excited to be one of the newest 6thgrade math teachers at Arlington Middle School.

Mrs. Gillespie graduated from the University of Memphis. “All throughout college I have worked to be the teacher I am today.” She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Education specialized in teacher of learners.

Mrs. Gillespie has dreamed of being a teacher since the first grade. “I had such a great first grade teacher, so it inspired me to want to be one.” Gillespie loves when kids look up to her for more learning opportunities, and Gillespie loves to be able to help them.

“I love to see their transitions change as they grow into teenagers, and their personalities form.” Jackie Gillespie teaches middle schoolers to inspire students be the best they can be in school and as a person.  Jackie Gillespie’s mindset about teaching is “if you don’t put in the work, students won’t grow.” Mrs. Gillespie is excited for a great year!
