Mallori Crocker is a junior at Arlington high school and in this article will be providing some tips and information on the effects of procrastination.
“Some ways to limit distractions can be to turn your phone off, like Do Not Disturb mode. Or maybe you can set a little timer for yourself with little breaks in between.” And “When you’re given an assignment, try to finish it that day or the next day. That way you can remember that way your work is already done.” These are just a few ways she believes you can set up your time to help prevent procrastinating.
She also said “I think most high school students struggle with procrastination, especially freshmen and seniors.“ and “If one of you’re after school stuff becomes more prominent, or you have to do a lot more after school things. I say speak with whoever you know in your after school thing. Just say like, Hey, I’m struggling in school, can I do a little bit of a lower work load.” As a high school student she also personally understands the struggle of procrastination.
Overall she believes “I say it’s really important because especially right now with being a junior, I’m trying to get all my grades finished that way it looks really good in college. So I would say the more you procrastinate, the worse its going to be on you later on.” And further on “One thing people should know is that just because you have things going on doesn’t mean that you can’t balance your time, things might be overwhelming right now with a pandemic and everything but just continue working as hard as you can!”
