Connor Creech

Sophomore year I needed another credit and it was between Art and Intro to Sports and Media Production. I didn’t want to take art so I took Intro to Sports and Media Production.

— Connor Creech

No one in their right mind actually likes to work. Well, no one except Connor Creech. Connor Creech is a Junior at Arlington High School who is a member of Arlington’s Sports and Media Production class. His journey to media production started because he was looking for a way out of art class, but he ended up finding a new passion. Despite his avoidance of art class, Connor is a dedicated student who doesn’t like to waste time. In his free time, Connor likes to hang out with his friends and go to basketball games. However, Connor spends most of his free time working. Whether that be working on cars or working at Brendalay Grill in town square in Arlington. He said, “in my free time, I actually like to work”. Sports and Media Production is a unique class allows him to do just that.

Sports and Media Production is a class designed to behave like a job. Every student is an employee, so every task and assignment is a job assignment. Originally when he joined the class, Connor was looking for something that would get him out of taking an art class, but he found that he actually enjoyed it. “Podcasts are by far my favorite thing to do because they’re fun. You can sit there and talk for hours and hours about one thing, but it doesn’t feel like it”. Because of his love for sports, particularly basketball, Connor discovered his joy for sports podcasts and commentary. Connor often helps TigerLife Media with their sports livestreams and participates in many other media production events.
