Many sites in Arlington are able to help bring the community together, and one of those places is the Sam T. Wilson library. They offer daily events appealing to all members of the community. These events include a builders club, working with legos and magnets, a stem group, and a story time. These programs are hosted weekly and give each member of the community something they can be involved in. The library also hosts a monthly kids zone which is a take-and-make craft day. There are also book clubs from age’s kindergarten to adult. There is something for all at the library.
The library has hosted these events for years and plans to continue the groups for years to come. Staff of the library say these events are rewarding because they help build relations, among the town and between the people. These events offer something for everyone of all ages, and help band the community together.
These events, as described by director Lisa Lance, “help fulfill fundamental human needs and are great for making connections. They provide entertainment and is often a fun way to learn. They can also eliminate barriers such as language and reading ability.”
The library has done their share for the town over the years and continue to be a connecting spot for many members of the community. From the builders club to the story times, the library has a lot to offer for the town of Arlington. If you’d like to become a member, just stop by the library and learn more about how you can be involved. Library cards are available to all residents of Arlington. All the information posted about these events held can be found on the town of Arlington website under the library section or on facebook.
