On September 13, 2024, hurricane Francine slammed into Louisiana hitting them hard. Francine destroyed many power lines down leaving massive power outages. She also flooded many streets leaving the roads non drivable. This amount of damage sent many people packing and evacuated their homes. They had to grab as many things as they could that would get them to safety. Leaving everything behind was scary for them because you never know what kind of damage Francine could have done. The community up and left their home base, but Francine followed them but died down a little bit.
The people were not out of the clear just yet, because the hurricane moved into a tropical storm in the inland. The hurricane produced winds up to 25 miles per hour. Drivers on the road cannot see what is in front of them and car were shaking. Many accidents happened on the road leaving wrecks left and right. Many tragedies happened leaving much of the community in need of help. Brianna Parker said, “This storm ruined my birthday weekend plans, and it put me in a very bad mood.” This storm left many unhappy and wanting to say goodbye to the rain and hello to the sunshine and good weather.
