On January 24, 2025 a 55 year old skydiver plummeted to death in Arizona. Ann Wick lived in Minnesota and had complications with the parachute when her and her skydiving instructor descended.
The parachute deployed correctly but then bystanders started to notice that the canopy started to turn sideways. This was the sole reason that the skydiver did not make it.
Eight days earlier another experienced skydiver had an accident and sadly passed away as well. These two deaths within a couple of days from each other is has caused mangy concerns for other people.
Other deaths regarding skydiving have been reported at West Tennessee Skydiving in Whiteville, Tennessee. Arlington High School senior, Chloe Spence, has always had a dream to go skydiving. However, after researching and seeing all the news regarding the deaths, she is very concerned and hesitant now. She states, “I really do not want to go skydiving now after seeing all the deaths that have been happening back to back.”
These problems with skydiving safety have really affected the way people see the safety of skydiving and the equipment it comes with.
