This past week, the Arlington High School cheer team was in Orlando, Florida for the UCA Nationals. The competition lasted from Friday to Sunday and many teams were there in order to win the title.
The Arlington High School varsity and JV hit 0 every single time they competed. Eliza Rector says, “Every team hitting 0 is very rare and insane.” This was a great way to start the prelims for both days.
Both teams made it to semis, and preformed great. However, UCA prioritized difficulty over nailing the stunts this year. This resulted in the varsity team being dropped after semis and not making it to finals. The JV team was able to pull through and make it to finals in order to try to win their title for the 8th year in a row.
The JV team has won worlds for 7 years in a row now. However, they lost the title this year and did not get the title. They ended up placing 4th in their division.
