The Student Media Contest was held in Nashville, TN on March 3, 2025. They hosted many different high schools from around the state of Tennessee. Every school put in some projects from throughout the year into their respected category to compete against others.
Arlington High School received 21 awards spread among different categories. Arlington High School also had 19 finalists in the competition.
Noah Certion won 3 awards. He placed 2nd place with a news package, 1st place for best television reporter, and 1st place AHL outstanding student journalist.
First place in news package went to a student from Collierville High School and third place came from another student at Arlington High School. Following Noah Certion in the best television reporter category are students from Christ Presbyterian Academy. Following Noah Certion in the AHL outstanding student journalist are students who come from St. Mary’s Episcopal School and Collierville High School.
One student get the title of outstanding student journalist throughout the state of Tennessee. Winning this award was a big honor to him and allowed of his hard work he puts into his projects really pay off.
Raechel Bateman, Media Arts teacher at Arlington High School, says, “Noah is a high achieving student who is dedicated and hardworking.” Being able to place very high and winning many awards is very difficult to do. Noah being able to do this is very admirable and pushes other students around him to be the best they can be in media arts.
