It’s almost that time. Prom season is finally approaching for the Memphis school area. Students are getting their tuxedos and dresses preparing for this occasion. Prom is very important to upperclassmen as it is a dance only for juniors and seniors in high school. This dance is held to a higher standard than other typically dances due to it being a school event.
This past weekend, April 5th, was prom for different high schools including CBHS, MUS, Houston, and Bartlett. Although, they all got cancelled due to the storms and flooding that occurred. A junior named Landen Jacobs states, “It was very upsetting that prom was cancelled because all of our plans got changed. On the bright side, they just rescheduled it to April 25th.” Students were devastated to hear the news of prom being cancelled, but schools are doing their best to find another time appropriate to hold the occasion. So far, CBHS, Bartlett, and Houston have been rescheduled.
Arlington High School is hosting their prom this year on April 26th. Students are becoming more excited by the day for this special event. Prom consists of a whole day for most people.
