Arlington High School is set to host its annual Senior Picnic on Friday, May 2. This tradition of the Senior Picnic started with the class of 2015. They are offering a day of fun and festivities for the graduating class. The event will take place on the school’s football field following the senior walk through the halls. The walk around the halls for seniors is when they get to walk the whole school with all the underclass men and teachers cheering for them.
This year’s picnic promises many exciting activities. These include inflatable attractions such as bounce houses and obstacle courses, lawn games, and a variety of food options. A highlight for many students is the return of the ice cream truck that provides a complimentary frozen treat throughout the day.
This event aims to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025 and provide a memorable experience as they approach graduation. Attendance did cost a fee for seniors to attend in order to provide all of the fun. Each english teacher is assigned a certain shirt color, which each senior will wear in order to represent the team they are on. Each senior participating paid a 35-dollar fee to cover the costs of the t-shirts and other necessities to put this event on. The school administration emphasizes that the picnic is a school sponsored event, and all standard conduct policies are in effect.
Ms Jones, an AHS senior english teacher says, “It is a calumniation of 4 years and get to be with their people and have this one last moment together where there is no pressure. It is like the seniors get to have their last innocence before having to step into the real world.” This event is one of the lasts for seniors before graduation; it is an event where everyone will hangout together one last time.
