Prom is coming up soon for the Arlington High School juniors and seniors. It will take place this Saturday, April 26, at the Esplanade.
A lot of preparation goes into prom. It often takes months to fully plan and organize everything for one special night, so that hopefully everything goes smooth.
For boys, this list of preparation is often a lot shorter. They get a tuxedo to wear and flowers for their date. This may vary depending on the person.
Some guys will even get haircuts and wash their car prior to the night.
For girls on the other hand, there is quite a bit more planning that goes into it.
For one, girls must find the perfect dress to wear. Depending on if it fits or not, their dresses may need alterations.
Often times, girls also like to have their hair done, whether styling it or get it cut, colored, etc.
When preparing for prom, Arlington High School senior, Chloe Spence, says how she decided to book an appointment to have her hair professionally styled for prom because she wanted it to be something special for her senior prom. She explains, “It’s my last prom and I want my hair to be styled in a way that I couldn’t just do on my own, something more fun and unique.”
Most girls also like to have their nails done for the special occasion. They spend lots of time booking the appointment as well as figuring out the perfect nails to get done for the occasion.
Many girls often get spray tans as well to allow them to have a natural-looking tan for the big day. This can often make the dress pop and pull the whole prom look together.
Chloe Spence decided to get a spray tan and explains how she really enjoys having one for dances as it makes her feel glowy and pretty. She also says, “It really just boosts my confidence which makes me feel prettier all night.”
Some girls also like to pay to have their makeup done professionally. It can be fun and exciting to have their makeup done in a way that they don’t know how to do themselves.
Girls are also typically responsible for getting the boutonnière for their date, if they are going with one.
There are many factors which go into prom planning, but it is bound to be a great night for all. From hair to makeup to nails and much more, all the preparation will hopefully make for a great night at prom for the Arlington Tigers.
