AHS Teacher Julie Linsey’s Chemistry Honors class learned just how hard it is to clean up dirty water. The lab, called “Foul Water Lab,” tasked students with a real-life practicum in chemistry. Students were given a “control”, a clean water sample to observe; then, given a “dirty” water sample which they also observed. They were then asked to use the equipment provided to clean their water sample to the best of their abilities under the constraints of our lab. Students documented the process on their iPads collaboratively and will evaluate their data.
