Wait, waking up at 5am on a Saturday morning can be fun? Many students apart of ASC here at Arlington say yes to that! On Saturday, December 1, the St. Jude Marathon is held. Students bundle up in warm clothes and travel downtown every year to cheer on runners that partake in running the marathon.
“It’s such a wonderful experience that raises thousands of dollars towards St. Jude. It’s towards a great cause, and tons of fun for everyone. I love it,” says Noah Stowman, a student apart of ASC.
Mrs. Kelley, a teacher and the ASC club leader at Arlington Highschool, does a lot of preparing to take fun to the next level. Students set aside time to make funny, encouraging posters to give the runners an extra boost to push through their run.
“I usually can’t wake up for anything, but this is something I wouldn’t miss,” says student, Ryan Wander. This is the third year students have participated in the St. Jude Marathon.
