Ashley Putnam

Donelson Elementary

Although Ashley Putnam may be new to Arlington Community Schools, she is no novice teacher. Mrs. Putnam was previously a teacher at Macon Hall Elementary School. This year will be her 13th year teaching.

Mrs. Putnam is now a Third Grade Teacher at Donelson Elementary. Her first week at Donelson went really well, “It has been great, the environment is so fun… and my peers have been really helpful.”

Mrs. Putnam became a teacher because she likes to help the students. “I love watching the lightbulb moment when they get something, and I like seeing them develop their friendships,” She says she feels like their second mom.

If they are having a rough day or a sad day, I’m here to listen and to help.

— Ashley Putnam

Some students in her 3rd grade class were asked questions about their new teacher, and a few responses were:
“She is fun and sweet.”
“She’s really nice. She lets us do really fun things.”

We hope Mrs. Putnam and her students have a fun school year.
