“On July 15, 2014 the score was 3 to 1 bottom of the sixth inning. When I was twelve years old we only played twelve innings. There were runners on first and third. I came up to the plate trembling with fear throughout my body. I looked at the pitcher and he looked at me and I could see the sweat dripping from his forehead. He threw the first pitch and I swung and missed. I stepped out of the box and looked at my coach, he looked at me and said, “you got it buddy.” I felt confidence shoot through my veins as I stepped back in the box. I looked the pitcher right in the eye as he pitched the second pitch. WHAM! I looked up and I was surprised because the ball wasn’t in the catchers mit. My third base coach is yelling, “RUN Hudson RUN!” I sprinted towards first but halfway down the first base line my coach said, “It went over Hudson it went over.” I was in shock but I still ran as fast as I could around the bases. When I got to home plate my whole team was waiting around for me. When my foot touched home plate there was a dog pile on top of me. I had won the game for the whole team. That was the furthest and only homerun I’ve hit in my whole life.”
