Maddie Hein is a freshman at UofM and attended AHS for all four years. She described her experience with Arlington as overall extremely positive. She said she felt constantly welcomed by not only faculty and staff, but the students as well. “I am so grateful for this school because it gave me so many life long friendships that I cherish so much.” Her favorite memory from her high school experience was winning homecoming queen her senior year. “That night was one of the happiest of my life. Everyone made me feel so loved and it felt good to recognize the impact I had on that school.” If she had to do it all over again she said she would try and join more clubs, and run for office within those clubs. When asked if she had any advice for current high schoolers she replied, “After applying to colleges, I realized my ACT score wasn’t good enough to get me very good scholarships, but if I had just been in more leadership positions, I would have had a much better chance getting more money towards my tuition.” She believes that staying active in school organizations and working on improving your ACT score as much as possible. She is currently studying biology and hopes to continue her education by pursing a career in medicine.
