Arlington High School has three blood drives a year. Mrs. Scherffius has been the blood driver coordinator for the past two years. Before the blood drive begins posters are put up around the school to promote donating blood along with daily announcements and Schoology updates. Mrs. Scherffius stated that the goal of the blood drives are to be apart of the 100 Club, which mean that a total of one hundred donations are collected from the three blood drives. She also stated “It teaches the students about their blood type and the whole blood donation process. It also shows them what a phlebotomist career looks like.”

Presley Stites is a senior at Arlington High School, Presley stated “this is my sixth time donating at an AHS blood drive”. She also talked about how it is not as scary as people make it out to be and that it is definitely worth doing.
