Humans of Arlington Patrick Ashbee

“I’m Mr. Ashbee and I teach film and video here at Arlington High School. I’ve been watching a lot of different movies lately on the Holocaust. I’ve been watching JoJo Rabbit a lot and Schindlers List and life is beautiful and it’s a subject I’ve been thinking about a lot. And the whole foundation for what was going on in the Holocaust was finding value in devaluing others and I think that is still something we struggle with today. I see a lot of people that find there value in putting someone else down. I’ve been guilty of that as well and I’m trying to be better at that. I believe that is a really important message to get out to young people that in order to find value in yourself it doesn’t need to be at the extent of someone else.”
