“I distinctly remember her reading The Boxcar Children to the class.” That is when new teacher, Cheryl Watkins, fell in love with school. Mrs. Watkins teaches Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies to second graders at Donelson Elementary School.
“My favorite thing about being a teacher is helping my students learn new skills and experience success. I hope my students learn kindness and gratitude.”
“This is my 20th year in my teaching career.” She has worked eleven years teaching fifth grade, three years teaching fourth grade, and five years teaching third grade.
She has taught in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.
For advice to seniors and college students, she says “Teaching is a noble career. It requires a lot of time and energy. It is worth it if you love it!”
