NASA’s “Ingenuity Mars”: the first aircraft to make flight on another planet.
117 years ago, the two Wright brothers achieved flight on our planet, Earth. Fast forward to present, and NASA is making moves to achieve the same large feat, this time on other planets. Last Monday, NASA made history with their work on Mars. A goal that was once thought of as impossible, NASA successfully flew a man-made aircraft on Mars. This feat hasn’t been done on any other of our neighboring planets, let alone Mars. Although the flight wasn’t as grand as an airplane on our home planet, the flight was logged at a 39.1 second hover at around 10 feet, better than anything before it. This statement by the NASA organization gives people hope that more is to come from flight on Mars. It’s only a few decades until we’re sitting in airports on Mars.
