Poor sleeping habits can affect every aspect of a students life. There’s been a number of studies that show this. There’s many reasons to this, for example; stress, family, school, health, and time management. The studies keep increasing showing that it is getting worse.
Sleep is a very important component to lives. It’s become a very common thing in the world. Many students who don’t get as much sleep as they need to struggle in school. It’s hard for them to be able to focus and simply learn what’s going on in the classroom. “It makes me fall asleep during class, it affects my focus and can make me struggle on test and quizzes. School starts to early in the morning for high schoolers and they don’t realize we have homework, practices, and work after school.” – Taylor Dobbs 11th grade. Many students are failing classes and aren’t able to get the grades they are wanting or need. When students have an exam or big test coming up the students usually stay up late to study for it and don’t get enough rest for the exam or test. “It’s really hard to be able to stay up because we get so much homework and have to study for all our classes, it takes up so much time. I’m not able to get as much sleep as I wish I could and I get very distracted.” – Taylor Dobbs 11th grade.
Sleeping is very important for school and to help the students learn. If students don’t get enough sleep it doesn’t just affect them and their work, but also affects the teachers and how they teach. When students don’t pay attention the teachers feel as if there teaching for no reason and it’s overwhelming for them as well. “Students lack of sleep can affect us teachers as well because we feel what we are teaching isn’t being learned by the students. I understand that students have homework, practices, and some students work, so I try to help the students with time management.” – Heather Trim, Health Science Teacher.
Poor sleeping habits affect students and teachers in many different ways. Sleeping is a very important component in students lives and needs to be controlled. Students need to focus on time management to be able to get enough sleep for school. Sleeping is a common thing in the world, every person needs sleep to help them be able to go through the day and be able to focus.
