Hailey Harrison is an Arlington High School Class of 2021 graduate. She is majoring in Aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University.
Hailey has gone through many changes from transitioning from high school to college. “The hardest change for me when transitioning from high school to college was leaving my family and moving to a city where I didn’t know anyone. My family and I are very close, so leaving them behind was very hard. After some time, I’ve made amazing friends that have made it feel more like home.”
She has had multiple memories from college and high school. “My favorite experience in college isn’t just one memory, it would be going through flight school and getting to meet people who are as passionate about aviation as I am.” “My favorite high school experience was definitely my senior year soccer season. I had a memorable senior night and we became regional champs for the first time in several years. We also defeated our rivals, Bartlett, at our football field for the first time in several years.”
Her biggest piece of advice for someone about to transition into college is to have perseverance.
She hopes to become a certified flight instructor to fly enough hours, then move on to fly for a regional airline, like Fedex.
At Arlington, she had a positive experience until covid hit. “I remember how exiting football and basketball games were and how much I enjoyed classes with all my friends. I made the most of my senior year even though I never had a prom, senior year football games, pep rallies, and I didn’t go to school with half of my friends the entire year.”
