Feeling Appreciated

Teachers can leave an impact on their students. Sometimes students need to show their appreciation by saying thank you.

This week at Arlington High school, the varsity baseball team hosted their teacher appreciation game on Monday April 24, 2023. Each baseball player got the opportunity to invite a teacher they are thankful for to the game.

“I chose my teacher because of all the lessons they have taught me and how they have helped me become the person I am today.” says Parker Peeler (AHS 2nd basemen).  Parker is just one of the many players who felt an impact from their teacher. Ms. Mize is one of the functional skills teachers at Arlington High and a leader of the club, Best buddies. “Ms.Mize has gotten me involved in best buddies. This year I got the chance to have a buddy and spend time with him during school and outside of school. Without the constant support of Ms. Mize I would have never thought of being this involved with a club at Arlington High.”

Other players picked teachers that are more than just a teacher to them. Britt Fowler chose his Anatomy teacher, Kenzie Fields. Britt said “Mrs. Fields is more than just a good teacher, she’s a great friend. Giving her this card meant a lot to me because I wanted her to know how much she is really appreciated.”

The Arlington High Baseball Team made teachers truly feel appreciated. Each teacher that got a card was invited to be walked out on the field and presented to the fans on Monday’s game.
