This semester, Mrs. Bateman is allowing all of her students in her digital journalism the freedom to choose their stories they would like to cover as well as how they would like to cover using different forms of media. These types of media can include photos, podcasts, written stories, as well as video stories.

Breleigh Bunker and Lily Douglas are preparing for their next story by planning out what they want to do and how they will accomplish that.

Campbell Funk and KyLynn McGuire chose to cover their stories through podcasts this semester. They are on episode 8 covering the location of college.

The podcasts stations are very unique and have many components apart of it.

One of the most important parts to a podcast station is the soundboard which controls music, how loud each mic is, and so much more.

In order for the podcast to come out clear and crisp you must not be too close or too far from the microphone. KyLynn McGuire is the perfect distance to succeed in the sound of her podcast.

The headphones allow them to hear each other which allows them to conversate for their podcast listeners to hear.

Cooper Caskey, Dustin Arnold, ad Brayden Wheeler also decided to record podcasts this semester.

There are cameras available for students to use when recording video stories.

All around Mrs. Bateman’s room are apple computers where students edit all of their projects on.

Chloe Spence chose to do photos this semester, so she uses the computer to pick and choose her best ones to tell the story she is wanting to tell.

Chloe Spence also must edit the photos to get them to their best quality for the community to look at.

Ella Parker, Journalist
Ella is a senior at Arlington High School. She is interested in digital journalism because she wants to allow everybody to hear the interesting news happening at the school. Her favorite topic to write about is sports articles and she really enjoys making podcasts. Her plans after high school include going to Mississippi State University and majoring in interior design. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the lake, taking her dogs on walks, and shopping.
