On Sunday, February 2nd, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles, California. The entire night was a tribute to the destruction and death that had taken place all throughout California because of the wildfires.
Over $120 million was raised in donations from Grammy nominees and viewers at home.
The most popular Grammy Award, Album of the Year, was won by Beyoncé and her album “Cowboy Carter.” This was a very controversial pick, and some people were very upset with the winner.
At Arlington High School, Kallen Perkins was very surprised about this winner when she was watching. She said, “I was very upset that Billie Eilish didn’t win. Her album was in my opinion the best, and I could tell she really wanted to win this award.”
Another controversial winner of the popular Song of the Year Award was given to “Not Like Us,” by Kendrick Lamar. While this song is very catchy, it was up against other big artists like Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Beyoncé.
Every single Grammy Award was chosen very specifically by a majority winner of 13,000 voting members.
The 2025 Grammys had over 20 performers during the performance. They each performed different elaborate performances on stage. Famous singers were cheering each other on while they performed.
Overall, the 2025 Grammy Awards were very successful. Millions of dollars were raised for victims of the wildfires, and many singers were given their much needed appreciation.
