Mrs. Wilson’s 2020 Art Class

With the second quarter of 2020’s school year coming to a close there was curiosity about how some classes have been going under the new “hybrid learning”. Mrs. Wilson is an art teacher from Memphis. She has been teaching since 1994 and is currently teaching Art I and II at Arlington High School. Her favorite food is potatoes and salads and she enjoys doing art, playing with horses and dogs, skating, hiking, cooking, gardening, and cutting grass with a tractor.

As a teacher who has been teaching for just over 25 years. Mrs. Wilson says that the year so far has been strange and that some students are more motivated than others. “The kids who come to school are really trying – this job would be awful without them.” The students who have been coming to school and have been in her class have been working on projects such as drawing, paintings, computer projects, and sketching.

“We just need time to plan and make our teaching materials. I think we have figured out how. Need parents to help “motivate” their children when at home” she says after being asked how Arlington could ease the process of teaching under these circumstances.
