AHS football star heads off to D2 school to follow his dreams

Jordan Batts is an Arlington High School Senior that has gone above and beyond in many ways.

Jordan is involved in many clubs and has achieved many awards his senior year of high school. He has achieved 2023 class speaker, Most Athletic, Mr. AHS, football team captain, Played in the Liberty Bowl Allstar Game, Patriot Bank Student of the month, nominated for commercial appeal athlete of the week, and the most important one, a D2 scholarship to play football at Lincoln University. “I was really surprised when they started recruiting me.” – Jordan Batts 2023

Jordan was originally born in South Carolina, but then moved to Arlington, Tennessee his 8th grade year. He started sports at a very young age, but his love for football didn’t come till later in life. “Football has always been something i can do when I’m stressed or when i just want to stop thinking and just go workout and work on my craft.” – Jordan Batts 2023

Jordan’s sophomore year of football got cut short because of covid, but started back up his junior year. “When i came back junior year i was named team captain, so that really gave me a boost of confidence for me not playing for a year, then being able to come back and lead the team as a junior.” – Jordan Batts 2023

Senior year started up, Jordan was named football team captain for a second year. “I was named team captain again, third team all region, led the team in tackles, 2 interceptions, and I was able to play in the Allstar Game.” – Jordan Batts 2023

During his senior year, he started to look at colleges: MTSU, Lindsey Wilson, Bluffton University, and Lincoln University. He didn’t think he was ready to be at a D1 school and decided to commit to Lincoln University.

“I just knew no matter what school I chose my family would be there to come to the games and support me.” – Jordan Batts 2023. Jordans family means the world to him. He knows no matter where he picked they would always be there to support. Jordan has 5 brothers, one is a twin, who will also be attending college. Jordans father has made a big impact on helping him visit and choose a college. Jordan is very thankful for having the family he has and for all the support from friends and teammates.

Jordan Batts is an all around great person. He is known for all his achievements at Arlington High School and will always be remembered. He is the portrait of an AHS graduate. We are ready to see where this football career leads Jordan and we will be cheering him on from Tennessee.
