The Arlington High School Lady Tigers basketball team played their final game of the season this past Saturday, March 1st. The Arlington Lady Tigers faced off against the Whitehaven Tigers; they unfortunately fell short with a score of 27-59.
This was the regional quarterfinals game for the Arlington High School Lady Tigers. Leading scorers for the Lady Tigers were Kallie Marsh (Fr) with 11 points, Zaria Moss (So) with 8 points, and Jenna Miller (Fr) with 4 points.
Arlington High School Lady Tigers basketball coach, Sherri Smith, shares that she felt the moment got too big for them. She explains how they were ready for the opportunity but folded and didn’t play as expected. She says, “It was a good learning experience and the team is young and will be more mature to handle the opportunity next year.”
Smith also states that, “You can always take losing as a learning experience and this will be a great one moving forward.”
This was unfortunately the final game this year for the Lady Tigers but coach Smith shares that in preparation for next season, she’s focused on working with the athletes to try to get stronger, keep developing skill sets, and hopefully recruit a couple new players in order to build the program.
