Arlington Varsity Tigers Take Lead and Never Look Back in Win Over Marion

Arlington Varsity Tigers easily dispatched Marion on Monday, March 5th at Marion High School, 8-2.

A triple put by Patriot put Marion on the board in the bottom of the first.

Brittanie Layton singled, which helped Arlington Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the top of the third. AHS Varsity Tigers captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the fourth after Hadley Edwards doubled, and Lily Hatch doubled, each scoring one run.

Layton earned the win for AHS Varsity Tigers. The pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Layton drove the middle of the line up, leading AHS Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in.

The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. McKenzie Walker stole four bases. AHS Varsity Tigers stole six bases in the game.

Two Patriots were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Marion. Each drove in one run for Marion.

Next up for AHS Varsity Tigers is a game against Munford on Tuesday.
