Arlington High School Got a new teacher in 2019 named Dorothy Mitchum. She lives in Lakeland TN and Works in the Functional Skills Room at AHS. “I love my job!” Dorothy Mitchum chose to join AHS because she loves ACS and its students, teachers, and staff. “I also Graduated from AHS in 2010, so it was always on my mind to come back to my home.” She loves teaching her students too. “I also enjoy being a co-advisor for Best Buddies!” Dorothy Mitchum also works with Mrs. L. Parham, Mr. Davidson, and eleven paraprofessionals!

Her advice for new teachers is to make the most of every day, and on bad days to remember that there are still good days. For 2020-2021 school year, her most difficult part so far is wearing a mask because she can’t get to see other people’s facial expressions. This is Dorothy Mitchum’s seventh year teaching and second year at AHS. “We love AHS!” She is excited for this school year and excited to work at AHS!
