“I’ve decided to continue my career at CBU”, states former varsity soccer player Lia Kahel. She was a student athlete at Arlington High School from 9th-12th grade. She’s been playing soccer for 14 years and played for Arlington High School for 4 years. Her positions include: right/left wing, right/left defense, and striker.

“It’s a lot of fun and hard work being a student athlete”, says Lia.

The team practices twice a day, everyday. They play pick up soccer, go on hikes, and do yoga at Overton Park on days there aren’t practice. The girls get special treatment such as, their own lunch, and teachers being lenient with their school work. “My favorite plus is getting new gear every year”, she says.

These girls are my forever sisters.

“I love my team”, Lia says. All the girls are very kind, funny, and easy to get along with. They know when to work hard and they know when to have fun. Lia says it’s like having a big family. “These girls are my forever sisters”, she states.

Soccer is one of the strongest sports they have at CBU, so there is more credit with the presence of their school. Alongside with a strong athletic department, the academic studies are high quality.

Lia is currently studying Biology and taking many science classes. She hopes to become a dentist one day like everyone else in her family.

“I am thankful for all the memories that Arlington High School gave me”, she says.
