Student Ministry: Passing the Torch

Jack Glenn and Evan Norman

When Jackson Norman graduated in 2020, he had one extra thing to worry about, besides just the normal senior stuff. He had spent the past two years leading the AHS Club, Student Ministry. They meet every Friday morning, at 6:15 before school. It is a student lead club, with someone giving a devotion, sharing their testimony, or leading a time of prayer.

Norman hadn’t been expecting the tall task of leading the club, but when he began attending his freshman year, he felt something.

I felt like I needed to do something more. I felt called to ministry, to lead

— Jackson Norman

He passed the leadership role down to Hunter Reich, who passed it own to AHS TigerLife’s Jake Stoope. Jake graduates this school year, 2023, and he is tasked with the same thing that Jackson was, finding someone capable of leading the Lord’s people at Arlington High School.

“I have been really impressed with the sophomore class this year: Cam Nelson, Casey Stoope, Jacksen Lyons in a way. Even, junior Evan Norman has stepped up. I honestly don’t care who takes the role.” He just hopes that they will lead with faith, and be a light and an example to the rest of the kids in the club.
