This fall, Arlington High Schools Basketball and Volleyball teams are stepping into the new season with more than just new uniforms. Arlington Community Schools have dedicated time and money for a more modern look. While the renovations aren’t quite done yet the players and coaches can’t wait to move in.
This new upgrade gives the players and coaches something new to celebrate. The renovation includes new lockers, new flooring, and a fresh coat of paint. After years of the same look the players can’t wait to have a new place to call their own.
“Anytime you get anything new it makes you fell seen and like people want to see us play, it makes the players way more excited to get on the court and go to practices and stuff,” said Coach Cooley.
The feeling of appreciation and support has spread throughout both teams. The upgrades aren’t just about improving the facilities, it’s about boosting confidence, team spirit, and motivation in the players.
Coaches think the upgrades will help the team perform better and give the athletes a space that represents their handwork and dedication. The new locker rooms will give the teams a comfortable space to get focused, discuss game plans, and bond before games.
The players are just as excited. Senior player Chantal Henderson said, ” I can’t wait to see it when it’s done,”
Admin is just as thrilled to see it give a new level of confidence to the players. They think this is a chance to give the Basketball and Volleyball teams a space that matches their energy.
“Our locker rooms were outdated and they weren’t what I would say boujee, so we wanted to give the team something to be proud of. So that’s the route we went,” said Principle Davis.
As the construction almost comes to an end, the excitement through the teams just keep growing. From pregame huddles to postgame celebrations, the new space will be more than just a locker room. As the doors open, this will mark the beginning of new era for Arlington High School.
