Mrs.Johnson is a school councilor at Arlington High School. She became a social worker because she enjoys helping people. She loves working in mental health and learning more about how the brain works. Mrs. Johnson’s office is a very safe, comfortable, and confidential space.

She tries to keep it room, comfortable, and smelling good so students can relax and ease their minds. Mrs. Johnsons “rest room” was created this year for students to come ad deal with their feelings while in school. Whether that’s a panic attack, anxiety, sadness, etc. Mrs. Johnson says that kids are still moldable so she likes to shape and help kids be successful.

She is the sponsor for active minds. Active minds is a club at Arlington High that tries to remove the stigma about metal illness by setting up fun school activities like kindness morals, depression awareness stands, anxiety posters and more. Mrs Johnson struggles with anxiety herself but she knows how to manage it so she helps wants to help others manage too. She loves to be a resource for students struggling. She says that her students help her learn how to keep going and growing not only as a councilor but also as a mom, sister, daughter, and more.

I love working with the youth they keep me young

— Mrs. Johnson

Mrs.Johnson thinks everyone should be themselves and be authentically them. Overall, Mrs. Johnson is a positive addition to Arlington High School and is a fantastic help to many students.
